ABA Therapy for Autism at Harmony
Applied Behavior Analysis, with an emphasis on Verbal Behavior
At Harmony Autism Therapy, we provide home-based ABA therapy with a focus on Verbal Behavior. This approach teaches children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a variety of skills, including increasing language/communication. With this focus, your child is taught the power of using words to communicate. As a result, many behavior problems are decreased since often times a child uses crying, screaming, and/or aggression to communicate.
We specialize in treatment based on:
- Discrete Trial Teaching
- Natural Environment Teaching
- Verbal Behavior based on the works by Mark Sundberg, Ph.D, BCBA, James Partington, Ph.D., BCBA, Vince Carbone, Ph.D., BCBA and Lynn & Robert Koegel, Ph.D, among others.
Highly-qualified professionals who adhere to strict standards.
We are passionate about your child and how we can help. State-of-the art, effective and ethical programs are used in teaching your child the critical skills necessary, including critical “learning to learn” skills- that will help your child achieve success on his or her own.
Our teaching methods are based on making learning FUN!
Children with autism typically do not respond to conventional treatment methods. That’s why we make it FUN! We use child-established reinforcers and motivation as our cornerstone to effective treatment. We utilize the natural learning environment to teach through motivation! But, as the saying goes, it does take a village. Therefore, we use a family-centered approach where parents/guardians, as well as other providers, are encouraged to participate and follow-through on teaching and behavior reduction techniques.
Learn about our Treatment Plan
No “cookie-cutter” approach here!
The initial assessment, parent interview, and direct observation are the foundation to creating an individual plan for your child. During this process, we will utilize the Verbal Behavior Milestones and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) and/or the Assessment of Basic Language & Learning Skills-Revised (ABLLS-R) to specifically design goals and objectives with a typical-development approach.
